General Introduction
A relaxed conversation to get to know each other. We’ll walk you through what we’re building at AscendenceAI, and you’ll tell us about your journey — what excites you, what you’ve built, and what kind of problems you want to solve next. No trick questions, no pressure. Just a genuine conversation.
Take-Home Task & Problem Write-Up
We’ll send you a focused, real-world task relevant to the role — something you can complete in your own time without unreasonable pressure. Alongside the task, we ask you to write about a core problem you’ve solved in your life. It doesn’t have to be a technology problem. We care about how you approach hard things: how you broke the problem down, what decisions you made, and what you learned. The write-up matters as much as the code.
Task Deep-Dive
A technical conversation centered entirely on your submitted work. We’ll walk through your solution together — the trade-offs you considered, why you made the choices you did, and how you’d evolve it further. This isn’t an interrogation. It’s a collaborative discussion, the kind you’d have with a teammate during a code review.
Cultural Fitment
The final round is about alignment. You’ll meet members of the team you’d be working with to explore how you collaborate, communicate, and handle ambiguity. We’re building something hard, and we need people who are intellectually honest, low-ego, and genuinely energized by the mission. This is also your chance to interview us — ask anything.
